Able
Cadet Advancement Success & Staff Food Safety
Awards
1.
It was a very busy night at the unit last night
with fifty cadets onboard, six out of the fifty
cadets took the test for their advancement to
Able Cadet and each of them passed entitling
them to wear 3 stars on each shoulder.
Well done to Cadets Andrew Taylor, Jemma Shaw,
Leila Balfe, Jessica Melles, Robert Smith and
D Hopwood on their advancement.
2. Well Done to Petty Officer's
Paula Saycell, Andrew Saycell and Vanessa Barlow
have all spent some time in the kitchen recently
passing their Level 2 Food Safety in Catering
Awards and we look forward to sampling their
catering skills at the weekend.

adverts are good but the anybody considering

New Mailing Database
Installed - Subscribe now to get updates by
email
As
many cadets who were around last year will know
the unit sent out regular news, information
and updates about the sea cadets and its activitys.
Unfortunatley due to the webmaster being involved
in an accident this has not happended since
October 06.
A new mailing list database has been installed
to ensure that all the email addresses are correct
so cadets, staff and parents can receive emailed
updates and news.
To register is simple, just enter your email
address, your name and whether you are a cadet,
staff, parent or other and then verify by return
email then wait for the news to come to you.

Marine Cadet Field
Assessment Weekend
As
you may or may not be aware last weekend 9 Marine
Cadets from our unit took part in the annual
SRMO’s field assessment. The SRMO is a
serving Colour Sergeant of the Royal Marines
and is link between the Sea Cadet Corps &
Royal Marines and is there to assist in training
and to make sure that the training that Marine
cadets receive is of relevance.
The
aim of the assessment is to test & assess
an 8 man section in field tactics such as Section
Battle drills, Field Admin, Camp craft, Building
biviy’s/Shelters, Fielding cooking and
personnel administration.
