Cadets gain Swimming qualifications

Congratulations to New Entrys Leila Balfe and Craig Handle who this week completed their sea cadet swimming test.

Cadet picks up his Third Good Conduct stripe

After being with the unit just over three years Able Cadet Joe Robinson managed
to pick up his third good conduct stripe. Joe has been a consistent member of the unit getting involved in lots of training and activitys. We are very pleased he has gained his third and final good conduct stripe for his time at the unit.

Cadet Advancement to Ordinary Cadet

Well done to Andrew Taylor who recently completed his final stage of cadet training and passed his drill, knots and cadet test which allows him to be advanced to Ordinary Cadet. Andrew is gong away with Maryport unit sailing at Weymouth so lets hope he brings back another award to add to his growing list.

Well Done Andrew.

Advancement to Cadet for Jessica and Callum

On Thursday night the cadets managed to prove their knowledge of knots and finally got an 80% pass in the advancement test which covers what cadets learn in both the New Entry class and Cadet Class.

Cadets Travel to Liverpool and visit units affiliated ship HMS Walney

A member of staff and a group of cadets headed over to liverpool this weekend. PO Cooper along with a group of cadets were invited to lunch aboard the ship and then take a look around HMS Walney and its ships operations.

Then later on in the afternoon the ship opended its gangway to the public and the cadets assisted in assisting the visitors aboard.

Advancement to Ordinary Cadet for Jemma

Last week saw Jemma Shaw complete her advancement test's to advance to Ordinary Cadet. Jemma, who recently was awarded her one years good conduct stripe has been with the unit just a little over a year.

On Tuesday night Jemma managed to complete her drill assessment, prove her knowledge of knots and finally get a pass in the advancement test which covers what cadets learn in both the New Entry class and Cadet Class.

Well Done Jemma.
