One of the most
rewarding experiences
for a cadet is
advancement. Advancement
is
recognition of
personal
achievement, accomplishment, and
their dedication to the sea cadet corps.
Advancement is not taken lightly as it is something
that is hard earned. With each promotion come new
opportunities and new responsibilities. Advancement
within the Corps is an integral part of learning to
become a leader and how to achieve goals by continuous
effort.
The Sea Cadet Organisation ensures a programme to
allow cadets to move through the ranks and learn new
things. This is achieved by taking part in Part 1
training - this training teaches naval/cadet subjects
to cadets
as they move up through the ranks from Cadet to Petty
Officer Cadet.
In addition to completing the Part 1 training a cadet
must also obtain points from other specialisations
and proficiency's in order to advance. Just like real
life, rewards and advancement is achieved through
involvment and learning and this we feel is a vital
lesson for cadets to learn as they grow older.
