Laser Bahia to be added to Tameside Units Fleet!

New Laser Bahia added to Tameside unit Fleet.

Tameside Unit received news from the Community Foundation for Greater Manchester this morning. The unit has been awarded a grant totalling £5,570 in order that the organisation can purchase a brand new Laser Bahia sailing boat.

'This is great news, we have managed to replace all our fleet over the past 2 years.  We currently have 4 Laser Picos and 2 Laser Vagos which replaced our ageing Topper Fleet, a Laser Bahia is a great addition and will aid our training' said the units training officer.

The Laser Bahia is a bigger boat and more suited to training multiple cadets which is just the job for Tameside unit.

The Commanding Officer commented 'we are continually looking at news ways of raising funds for our charity and we constantly apply for grants and support, we are really pleased we have been successful yet again' adding 'our next major purchase is a minibus, after the breakdown of our bus coming back from Portsmouth at the weekend we need to concentrate on getting a new one'.
